• This week in Web Business Creation, I learned about tools and principles we can use to start an online business. One important aspect of starting a business is selling a product that is popular, because of course you want clients to purchase your product. A tool to research if your product idea already has some traction with people on the internet is the keyword search on GoogleAds. You can search relevant keywords to see how many searches those words or phrases get monthly. Another great part of this tool is the ability to see how in demand those keywords are by other businesses. Another good indicator of demand and how saturated the market is.

There is also so much to consider as far as your format for selling a product. The internet offers a variety of different ways to sell ad space, physical products, services, et cetera; directly or through other vendors. It is important to base this choice off of what you want to put into your business and what kind of product you want to sell. There are great resources on the internet for learning about different models.

I’m grateful for the tools I have access to and the thoughts and opinions shared in class this week that opened my eyes to how much variety and options there are for being an online business owner. I look forward to utilizing this new knowledge on my own web business journey.
